Sue's Notes
February 2010
Over the past four weeks, we’ve been purging and sorting various storage areas in our home. I’m finally making our sons take the items they left behind when they moved out and giving all three kids first dibs on things that I haven’t used in years. We’re not finished yet but making great headway.
In the process, I’ve found some interesting items…like handmade Valentine’s cards, which I hung on the fridge once again. When my daughter was much younger (and I regret not dating the card so I know exactly how old she was) she wrote this:
Mommys
Some mommy’s are cool.
Some mommy’s are nice.
Some mommy’s are weird.
And my mommy is feisty.
I’m not exactly sure where she got that idea but it was fun to see it again (and she may have been correct).

And then there’s the music tape, “Benidorm 1981” I bought when visiting this beautiful coastal town in Spain. I’m loving the Spanish disco tunes that brings back memories, including “She is disco – delightful, incredible, super sexy, crazy crazy, oh, oh, oh.” Yes, memories (and that’s a younger me in my party hat in Benidorm). Life was good.
If it’s time to sort and purge in your home, do it slowly. It won’t be overwhelming and it’s so much fun reliving the past. Plus, you’re creating space for new things to come your way.
P.S. I also found this photo of my boyfriend and I in high school…and this summer, we’ll celebrate 30 years of creating memories together.
